Facing Forward

Standoff at 305 22nd Street in Summit Township

I got a call around 8 p.m. last night to come out to a standoff. Apparently Michael Czolgosz had locked himself inside his house after allegedly assaulting two women. He then fired a nail gun at officers who surrounded the house. After a six hour long standoff where officers threw in tear gas canisters, concussion grenades and attempted to talk the man out, the Jackson County Special Response Team went in and removed him from the house. The scene on 22nd street was full of people drinking, eating and sharing stories about what was going on inside the house and the situation before.
